From Santa Monica, California (grew up in Berkeley)
David Waxman is a three-time technology entrepreneur and co-founder of TenOneTen Ventures. With nearly two decades as a founder, he brings deep operator experience to his investing practice. After graduating from MIT's Media Lab in 1995, David co-founded Firefly Network, an early pioneer in personalization and privacy technology. Firefly was acquired by Microsoft in 1998, and its technology became the foundation for Microsoft Passport (now Microsoft Account), one of the first single sign-on systems on the internet. David then co-founded PeoplePC, which provided affordable internet access and computing to underserved communities. PeoplePC grew to over 600,000 subscribers, went public in 2001, and was acquired by EarthLink in 2002. In 2005, David co-founded SpotRunner, a technology company that revolutionized advertising by enabling small and medium businesses to create and place television ads at a fraction of the traditional cost. SpotRunner raised over $100M from investors including CBS, Goldman Sachs, and WPP. A Santa Monica native who grew up in Berkeley, David brings a rare combination of consumer internet, enterprise, and media technology expertise to TenOneTen's portfolio companies.
